		Located south of the
Jostedalsbreen glacier, the little village of
Fjaerland surrounds the Fjaerlandsfjord, which is a sidearm
		of the Sognefjord.

Fjaerland's center is called Mundal and is kind of famous for the second-hand bookstores and
of course the wooden Mundal Hotel from 1891.

The hamlet of Boyum sits at the end of the protected Boyaoyri estuary.

		The
Norwegian Glacier Museum is nearby and among other icy subjects, features a huge stuffed polar bear and a display
with the story of the 5200 years old natural mummy nicknamed Otzi.

		Two branches of Jostedalsbreen, the
Boyabreen and
Supphellebreen are
close by and these smaller glaciers are certainly well worth the visit.

We visited Fjaerland in July 2014 and were struck
		by its quiet natural beauty.
