Like all the towns and villages along the Costa Blanca, the picturesque  Altea has its fair share of beaches.

Butthe main attraction is the old town of white houses build on a hill. Steep narrow and winding streets bring you to the top. 
Here you find the church La Mare de Déu del Consol, with colorfull glazed tiles. There are also restaurants to satisfy you other needs.

 

In the 1950's Altea became a meeting point for hippies and presently it harbors a community of international artists and musicians. There are many art galleries and souvenirshops that sell products from the local artisians.
