		The
Yellowstone River winds through Yellowstone Park. From the North It passes through Yellowstone Lake and is a relatively calm stream at
		bison rich Hayden Valley.

		But at the
Upper Falls there is more action: here the water drops 30 meters and then roars to
the Lower Falls for another 100 meters drop before entering the extremely colorful
Yellowstone Grand Canyon.
The river leaves the park
at Gardiner in Montana on its long way to the Missouri River.

French trappers named the river Roche Jaune which translated to
		Yellowstone.

		The easiest
way to see the spectacle is driving the Canyon Loop Road and use the many vantage points.

		Uncle Tom's Trail leads you
down 170 meters to an observation point with a spectacular view of the Lower Falls.

The last time we were at the falls
		was in June 1992.
