Some of Berlin's most visited landmarks and monuments are clustered around the iconic
Brandenburger Tor.

		The gate was constructed at
the end of the 18th century and has been of great symbolic importance to Germany ever since. The gate and its
quadriga was badly damaged
in WW II but fully restored after the war.

Just north of the gate is the
Reichstag from 1894. Set on fire in 1933 it
was not until 1999 that the original function as German parliament building was restored. Presently the
Bundestag calls it home.

		The
Sinti
and Roma Memorial from 2012 is dedicated to the memory of the hundred thousands of "gypsies" murdered by the Nazi regime.

		The
Soviet War Memorial commemorates the 80.000 soviet soldiers that died during the Russian assault on Berlin in 1945.
